The Houston Rodeo is a big deal around here. Last year we weren't able to make it because Ruby was a newborn, but this year we made up for last year's absence by going 3 times! The first time we went with Bryan (a friend from Brandon's work), his wife Sarah, and their 6 month old son Samuel.
Ruby had a great time petting the pigs and other animals in the livestock area. She especially loved the bunnies.
During the rodeo she spent most of the time walking between the seats and dropping food onto the row in front of us (good thing no one was sitting there). That night we didn't stay for the concert.
After spending the whole day chasing Ruby around we were all pretty spent.
Then on Tuesday night we left the buglet at home and went to the rodeo and concert with our friends Lori and Graig. We had a great time together and Keith Urban was surprisingly REALLY good in concert! He is a country ROCK star. You should have seen him wailing on the guitar and working the crowd. Fun, fun, fun!
Our last trip to the rodeo was another adults only party. A friend from Brandon's work offered us his club level seats to the Black Eyed Peas concert, and we couldn't turn them down. I'm so glad we didn't-- the Peas were AMAZING in concert! It was loud and high energy and I loved every minute of it!

In other news, Ruby is busy, busy, busy. She is walking all over the place, cutting her molars, and every week she picks up a few new signs.
Signing "water" at the splash pad.
Last week I took her to the splash pad with some friends and while she was playing in the fountains she signed "water" over and over. Then this morning when we walked passed the hallway bathroom she signed "toothbrush."
She loves to organize and put things away. The problem is that sometimes her place isn't always the place that I'd put something, so we frequently check the pockets of her diaper bag or outside the dog door for items that are missing.
Showing her friends where she hid her froot loop snacks
Today at the gym she got bitten on the nose by an 18th month-old "who is going through the terrible twos a little early." I know that things like that are bound to happen. Kids are kids and you can't control them, but it still broke my heart.
