I love the simplicity of the 4th of July-- no presents to buy, no outfits to fret over. Just bbq, swim, watch some fireworks, feel patriotic, and hang out-- repeat every year for a good time.
This year we did just that.

In the morning Brandon and his dad went for an epic bike ride in American Fork Canyon and then we all headed over to my in-laws for a pool party/bbq with our neighbors, the O'Callighans. The four kids had the best time splashing around in the pool together and running around outside (except for when Nala, my in-law's dog, decided to chase Sera, who is terrified of dogs). As we were leaving they put on a little patriotic show for us-- complete with costumes. We got home just in time to watch the fireworks from the comfort of our master bedroom.
