Since our babes have birthdays just a week apart we decided to have a double birthday party this year. We probably can't get away with doing that every year, but this year it worked out and was lots of fun.
Wyatt is our little monkey boy and Ruby is all about princesses so the theme was "A Princess and a Monkey." I decorated with monkeys, princesses, balloons, and candy (feeling inspired by the January issue of Martha Stewart Living I also made lollipops and water bottles with picture stickers attached to them). Ruby requested pizza for dinner, so I just whipped up a salad to go along with it and we called it dinner!
The kids had fun playing with their family members, opening presents, and eating lots of cake. At first Wyatt was hesitant to dig into his monkey smash cake, but with in a few minutes he came around to the idea. 
Thanks to Mom and Grandma for helping out with the cake decorating and thanks to everyone who came over to celebrate with us. Monkey Boy and the Princess Girl both felt special and had a great time; and in the end that's all that matters!
